Getting Some Play at the Georgia Renaissance Festival
I had to go to the Georgia Renaissance Festival unescorted. The festival was located in Fairbun, Georgia, south of Atlanta. It had been going on since April and I attended on June 1st., the final weekend of festival. There were tons of families there. People were eating together. Children were laughing, and costumed actors and actresses were entertaining families who attended the ceremony to experience life in medieval times.
So, I was there unescorted, taking in the sights, watching wool spinning demonstrations, funny skits, and debating on whether I should eat a giant roasted turkey leg for lunch. I hadn’t seen the guy I was dating in about a month, and he always seemed to be too busy to talk on the phone. I was at the festival, trying to enjoy myself, and I was making the best out of a bad situation until something happened at the festival that made me smile. Take a look at this video and see why I now know that chivalry isn’t dead, and that God gives you just what you need when you need it.
